Screen Time, the Teddy Way
Why we choose calm over Cocomelon — and what to do instead.

What children learn
- Focus and a real attention span — not the twitchy kind fast cartoons train
- Imagination: a ‘bored’ child learns to invent their own play
- Real language and connection, from people instead of screens
Try this at home
- Default to no screens for the youngest — they truly don’t need them
- Skip the hyper-stimulating new shows (rapid cuts, loud noise). Watch one yourself — if your brain feels fried, imagine theirs
- If you do use a screen, choose slow, story-rich content: nature documentaries, or classics like Tom & Jerry where real artistry went in
- Let boredom happen — it’s where creativity starts
