Nest

Our own parent app

Already a Teddy Kids parent?

Goodbye KidsKonnect. Hello Nest. 🪺

From 1 August 2026, Nest becomes your Teddy Kids parent app.

We built Nest ourselves and tested it thoroughly with our team and parent committee. Now we are introducing it one location at a time, with everything you need in one simple place.

Your invoices and annual statements will move with you, so nothing gets lost. Billing will continue through Portabase for one final month in August and will move fully into Nest from September.

During August and September, everyday parent communication will also gradually move from WhatsApp into Nest Messages.

Your Nest is ready. Check your email for your personal link.

The Nest app icon

The app we always wanted — rebuilt from the ground up. It just works.

No accounts. No passwords. No “please call back during office hours.” Nest is where your child's day lives — the photos, the naps, the extra-day requests, the invoices — one place that opens with a single tap on your personal link.

The day

Your child's day, as it happened

Open the day report and see the day the way your child lived it: when they arrived, how they napped, what the group got up to, and the little notes only their own caregivers could write. Photos from the group land in your feed — filter them per child, keep the gems.

The calendar

Every ‘could we maybe…?’ is one tap

Report sick before breakfast. Pass on a vacation in ten seconds. Ask for an extra Tuesday. The calendar shows every booked, requested and closed day in colour — and everything you'd normally email or call about is a tap on the day itself.

Cancel a day at least 24 hours ahead and you earn Teddy Coins — spend them later on an extra day. Your balance lives in the app, with honest warnings before coins expire.

Messages

A real chat, not a WhatsApp workaround

Message your child's group or your location directly, react with an emoji, and keep parent-committee conversations in their own rooms. No phone numbers shared, no group-chat chaos — and it speaks Dutch and English, just like we do.

And the rest

The practical stuff, handled

Getting in

The best part: there's nothing to set up

No app store, no account, nothing to remember. You get a personal link by email — one tap and you're in, on any phone or computer. Lose the link? Request a fresh one with just your email address.

Open Nest →

You'll get your personal login link by email — one tap, no password.

Moving from KidsKonnect to Nest

Everything current Teddy Kids parents need for the switch.

When do we stop using KidsKonnect?

Nest replaces KidsKonnect from 1 August 2026. From that date, use your Teddy Kids NEST app for your child's information, requests and parent communication.

Will I lose my invoices or annual statements?

No. Your invoices and annual statements will be imported into Nest, so nothing gets lost. Billing will continue through Portabase for one final month in August. From September, billing will also run fully through Nest.

Will old KidsKonnect photos move to Nest?

There is no historical KidsKonnect photo archive to move. KidsKonnect was not used as our long-term photo archive.

Do I need to install Nest or create an account?

Can both parents use Nest?

Yes. Each parent or guardian receives their own personal Nest link and can use Nest separately. Please do not share your personal link with anyone else.

What if I cannot find my Nest link?

What happens to parent WhatsApp?

During August and September 2026, everyday parent communication will gradually move from WhatsApp into Nest Messages. Once most parents at your location are active in Nest, Nest Messages will become the main place for this communication. For anything urgent, always call your location directly.

Is Nest already fully tested?

Yes. Nest has been thoroughly tested internally and together with our parent committee. We are introducing it one location at a time so we can support every family properly and respond quickly to feedback during the wider rollout.

How the app works

Login links, the calendar, TeddyCoins, invoices and privacy — the everyday questions parents ask.

How do I get into the Nest app?

My link stopped working, or I can't find it — what now?

Can both parents have access to the app?

Yes. Every parent or guardian on file gets their own personal login link, sent to their own email address — completely separate from each other.

How do I report my child sick, and can I undo it?

Tap the day on your child's calendar and choose "Report sick 🤒" — no confirmation step needed. If your child turns out to be fine after all, you can undo the sick report for today or any future day; once the day has passed, it can no longer be undone.

What happens when I cancel a day my child won't be attending?

Tap the day, choose "Cancel this day 🌙" and confirm — you'll see exactly what you get back before you do. Cancelling in time credits Teddy coins to your family balance. The exact timing rules are in the full parent guide in the app: app.teddykids.nl/docs/nest-parent-guide.

How do I book an extra day, and when are my coins used?

Tap a free day on the calendar and fill in the short form. It becomes a request that your child's location approves or declines — coins are only used once the location approves it, never when you send the request.

What do I get back for a vacation?

It depends on the length. Under 21 consecutive days earns Teddy coins, day by day. 21 consecutive days or more earns 5% cashback on those days instead of coins.

What are Teddy coins?

Teddy coins are credit for daycare hours — 1 coin equals 1 hour of care. They sit in one family balance shared across all your children, and they expire 60 days after they're credited, so it's worth using them.

Where do I find and pay my invoices?

Open the Invoices screen in the app to see open and paid invoices, with the period, status and amount on each card — open one to see the individual lines and the due date. Open invoices with an amount outstanding have an iDEAL button so you can pay directly from the app.

Can I have a photo of my child removed?

Yes, at any moment and without giving a reason. Tap the photo and choose "Remove this photo", send a message in Nest, or ask your location manager — all three work, and the photo is hidden immediately.

Where can I read the privacy policy?

It lives inside the app as a Teddy Kids document under Documents, in Dutch and English, at app.teddykids.nl/docs/privacy-notice.

Which languages does the app support?

The app works in 11 languages, including Dutch, English, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, French, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Bulgarian and Turkish. Change it any time in your profile. Official emails and contracts stay in Dutch or English.
